




The region is home to a number of companies who are active in the Renewable Energy sector including Burntisland Fabrications, Brigg Marine and Rolls Royce. Fife has a number of skilled and experienced companies aiming to enter the Renewables Supply chain and they can be found within the company directory.
A number of leading companies are already investing in the region, including RWE, who are currently constructing a 50MW biomass plant at a cost of £200m.
Fife’s location on the east coast of Scotland means it is ideally placed for firms seeking access the offshore wind market in the North Sea, and further afield. There are several coastal sites with quaysides that can be used to access the offshore wind market.
John Robertson, the Managing Director of BiFab, talks about how BiFab have worked with the Public sector to develop their facility at Energy Park Fife.
He also comments on the excellent skills base in the area and the importance of the companies apprenticeship programme.
